I was wondering if anyone has had this problem. I was told mine were from too much gluten, wheat or dairy...oh now i can't remember!
If anyone knows about this, I'm open to any comments.
thanks,

Re: Dark Circles under the eyes
Mon, March 5, 2007 - 4:24 PMthat's funny because I drink coffee every a.m. and lately i've been using rice milk (pretty nasty) since my nutritionist wants me to try cutting out soy milk for 2 weeks. I'm wondering if my next thing would be to cut out caffeine! Eeekk! I don't know if i'm ready for that! -

Re: Dark Circles under the eyes
Tue, March 6, 2007 - 7:47 PMhaha yer i know...
my theory is cafine is a diaretic as we all know, which leads to fluid loss, the bodys response is to store fulid, and i think it collects in weird spots, under the eyes one of them. When i'm weell hydrated and well rested, i find the bags are much reduced.
maybe a combination of fatigue coupled with dehydration.
just my theory.

Re: Dark Circles under the eyes
Wed, March 7, 2007 - 9:10 AMI inquired about this with 2 people who do detoxing and cleansing. Since I've been on a wheat-free, gluten-free and dairy-free diet for the past week and a half, the dark circles are a sign that I'm detoxing these things. that the kidneys are filtering them out. I found this really fascinating. I may consult with my acupuncturist about this as well.
so even the coffe thing I wouldn't rule out because our kidneys and liver do all the filtering in our bodies. since i've been doing the 1/2 decaf coffees, i'm sure my body's cleansing from that too. it's such a trip!

Re: Dark Circles under the eyes
Thu, March 8, 2007 - 10:10 AMYou can make your own pretty easily, though almonds are really expensive right now (especially organic ones). Take an amount of raw almonds and soak them in a jar of water overnight, or for up to 24 hours. Then, for every cup of soaked almonds, add 2 cups filtered water and put in a blender until smooth. You can use less water if you want a thicker "milk". Then strain it through a cheesecloth or muslin. You can also add a smidge of vanilla extract, if you like. I use the almond meal leftover from the straining for baking...its wonderful. -

Re: Dark Circles under the eyes
Thu, March 8, 2007 - 3:00 PMTrader Joe's sells this brand. and usually their price is at least a $1 (or more) cheaper than what a chain like Safeway charges:
www.pacificfoods.com/product...rain.php
it's great. i use it for coffee mostly though.
