So i've stearing clear of it and it's been quite a challenge. However, yesterday after having Easter dinner with my aunt and uncle, my aunt whipped out the peach pie and homemade whip cream!!!! Eeeekk! I said to myself, it's a holiday and i'm with family so what the hell! I wolfed it down like nothing which is what i was afraid of. then when i got home i ate 2 cookies my aunt made and then 2 peeps!
This morning I felt like i had a hang over. has this happened to anyone?

Re: Sugar hangover
Mon, January 28, 2008 - 2:05 PMHI there, I am macrobiotic however occasionally deviate from the centre and eat sugar and I sure do pay for it - I definitely feel wiped out and 'hungover' and it also completely drains my energy and I have even vomitted before. When you start omitting sugar from your diet and body, it finds a new balance and when you eat sugar the body will strongly react as sugar is extreme yin (acid). I know this however I do give in to sugar once in a while as I spent 24 years living on sugar! I'm talking about the pure white stuff here, I find if I have organic sugar or suagr that isn't as refined, the effect isn't as extreme. -

Hi Ruth,
thanks for your response. It's nice to know people have experienced this. I do agree with that there's definitely a difference between organic sugar and refined, white sugar. So when I do indulge, I try to grab for the organic stuff. I've also try to do my own baking (if I wasn't so lazy).
:-) Liz
