Quinoa

I just began adding this to my diet. does anyone eat this? how do you add it into your diet? with what?

    replace rice really well. it is not mucus forming, really good source of complete protein!!
    add a juicy styr fry on top!!!!!

    My favorite summer dish is quinoa tossed with a little olive oil, lemon juice, halved cherry tomatoes and chopped green onions. Delish!

      that sounds so fresh & tastey! i'll have to try that .. i'll bet a sprinkle of finely chopped bell pepper would go nicely, too ..

    is it just me or does anyone else feel as if this stuff is just 'fluffy nothing'? i wanna love it. (and it's so innocuous that it's impossible to outright hate.) based on this thread, i again tried it last night. but it has no taste and barely even any texture for me. at least with brown rice or lentils you get that. with this, i feel like i'm eating air.

    is there something i'm doing wrong? i don't think i'm over-cooking it bc, like i said, it is nice and fluffy. it just feels 'empty'.

      I don't feel that way when I put it soup. I just made a yummy veggie soup last nite and put some in that. after it was in the pot for a bit, the quinoa absorbed most of the broth. it was tasty.

          Quinoa is an amazing gluten-free grain that i eat regularly. My 22 month old daughter loves it in a salad. Usually I'll toss it in with some sliced scallion, grated carrots,fresh parsley, and baby romaine in a lemon, braggs aminos, and grapeseed oil dressing.
